The idea of relocating our AGM in Martinique, came at our last January meeting when the board noticed the increased of members coming from Martinique.
We therefore took the entire year to work on the possibility to relocate our annual meeting, which proved a fantastic opportunity to reinforce the group spirit.
While only a few members from Guadeloupe and Dominica, came to Martinique, other members located in Paris and the rest of France were able to vote for in favour of our new chair, who was, of course present to the meeting.

 

L'Artocarpe is affirming itself with new forces joining the organization...

Lana is already familiar with Guadeloupe, being married to Fred-Alex, who is from the island. Lana is to inject new ideas to L'Artocarpe, in need to refresh its orientation so as to broader its range of actions. Members can expect to see greater opportunities wordlwide, starting with the north of America...

 

L’Artocarpe is to present Lana, 29, to its members in consideration for the post of Interim Chair of L’Artocarpe for the year 2016. The nomination will have to be confirmed by vote, by the members of L’Artocarpe at the next Annual General Meeting (AGM), which this year, will take place in Ford-de-France.
 
Although L’Artocarpe is based in Guadeloupe, in the rural town of Le Moule, the next AGM is for the first time scheduled to take place on the sister island of Martinique, to better reflect the presence of artist members living there.
 
Therefore on Saturday 23^rd january 2016, members will decide whether or not to confirm the board’s proposal to have Mrs Kustova as new Chair of L’Artocarpe.
If voted, Mrs  Kustova will take over for Joëlle Ferly’s position, held since the launch of L’Artocarpe, back in 2009.

Nos activités se tiennent sur tous les continents: au Sénégal, à Aruba, en Haïti, à Ténérife, à Trinidad, en République Dominicaine et au Japon.

L’Artocarpe est actuellement à Venise, pour la fin de la prestigieuse Biennale d’art contemporain qui fête sa 56ème édition.
Créée en 1895, cette manifestation est la plus respectée des professionnels de l’art qui viennent de loin participer au lancement de chaque édition, au printemps.
C’est ici que sont représentés, depuis 1907, les pays participants, à travers une sélection d’artistes qui ont la lourde responsabilité d’incarner, pour un temps, l’image de leur nation au sein des célèbres pavillons.
Un artiste par pays est généralement retenu, mais le choix d’œuvres de collectifs ou d’une sélection d’artistes est également possible au sein du pavillon national, qui les sponsorise.
Mais le point phare de la manifestation, reste cependant la proposition du commissaire invité, qui présente des artistes de son choix.
 
Cette édition, qui a ouvert ses portes en Mai 2015, s’achève fin Novembre 2015 après six mois de planification.

The 56th International Art Exhibition titled All The World’s Futures, curated by Okwui Enwezor and organized by la Biennale di Venezia chaired by Paolo Baratta, is open to the public from Saturday, May 9th to Sunday, November 22nd, 2015 at the Giardini and the Arsenale venues.

Les Récits (working title) is the new project by artist Joëlle Ferly.

The sound is to be later displayed in ten various sites, outdoor and indoor spaces, throughout Guadeloupe.

Project likely to reach completion in July 2016.
